What level package is recommended?

The membership package should be chosen based on you much you want to compete. If you are on Varsity particularly, the second level package is highly recommended. These packages cover tournament fees, merch, and more.

Are the packages mandatory to purchase?

Membership packages are not mandatory to purchase, but are very useful and highly recommended. They cover costs of all league tournaments and merchandise. Higher-level packages include cost coverage for state tournaments and additional alumni coaching opportunities.

However, even if you don’t want a package, NSDA membership fees are still mandatory to compete at tournaments. This can also be paid on the DVHS Webstore.

Is DVSD still offering speech and debate camp scholarships? (TDI, ISD, etc.)

While we don’t offer camp scholarships, we do encourage students to attend these programs to accelerate their debate experience. It is a great way to make connections within speech and debate while refining your skills. These are often taught by the top debaters in the country.
